ABOUT THE ACADEMY
Who We Are
A development platform committed to strengthening the intellectual, professional, and leadership capacity of nurses in Developed and Developing countries.
The academy was established to provide nurses with access to the support systems they need to grow academically, expand their professional opportunities, and gain the confidence required to make meaningful contributions within and outside healthcare.
It serves as a platform where nurses can develop knowledge, strengthen professional identity, receive mentorship, and be recognised for the work they are doing within the profession.
Vision
To raise nurses who excel in scholarship, leadership, service, and professional influence within healthcare and society.
Mission
To equip nurses through training, mentorship, recognition, and professional development opportunities that strengthen academic growth, leadership capacity, and purposeful service.
What Makes Us Unique
NurseXcellence Academy goes beyond traditional development. It recognises that nurses need both intellectual development and professional support to stand out.
The academy creates a balance where nurses can strengthen academic skills, explore leadership opportunities, receive mentorship, gain visibility, and grow in confidence as contributors to healthcare.
Meet the Founder
Josselyn Chukwuma is an experienced nursing professional with over 15 years of clinical experience, committed to advancing nursing scholarship, academic integrity, and leadership within the profession.
She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing from the University of Derby and is currently pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) in Psychology, further deepening her understanding of human behaviour, wellbeing, and professional development in healthcare.
Throughout her career, she has balanced clinical practice, academic pursuits, and personal responsibilities, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges nurses face while pursuing higher education. Completing her own research while working full-time strengthened her conviction that nurses are capable of scholarly excellence when supported with the right structure, mentorship, and encouragement.
This experience inspired the creation of NurseXcellence Academy, an initiative dedicated to empowering nurses to confidently write their own research, develop academic writing skills, and embrace their identity as scholars and leaders in healthcare.
Alongside her passion for academic development, she also recognises the deeper calling many nurses carry in their profession. Nursing is not only a technical discipline but also a vocation rooted in compassion, service, and purpose. This insight inspired the development of Nurses in Ministry, an initiative that supports nurses who seek tointegrate their faith, values, and professional practice while serving patients and communities.
As Founder of NurseXcellence Academy, she is committed to cultivating a generation of nurses who are intellectually confident, ethically grounded, and purpose-driven—nurses who not only provide care but also contribute to research, influence practice, and lead meaningful change in healthcare.
Her vision is to build a global community of nurse scholars, leaders, and compassionate professionals who combine knowledge, integrity, and purpose to improve patient outcomes and strengthen the future of nursing.
